Anyone here have one of these?
There are so many choices out there (I never even heard of many of the brands), I am sure many of them are crap.
I was wondering what the better quality name brands would be.
    Looking for a decent size....at least 17".
High picture quality and reliability are the primary concerns.
Remote control would be nice....ability to play mpeg or divx a plus but not necessary...same with audio.

Do these fit large photos to the screen size? My new digital camera takes pics at 4000X3000 although I could shrink them down if necessary.

    Thanks for any help.

Frames should scale them down automatically - but if you reduce them to match the resolution of the frame you'll fit more on the media card.

There is different quality but basically look for the largest pixel count. As to which manufacturer is better - I have no opinion.

There are a lot of dodgy frames around. Like LCD televisions, a big factor is the processing in the background. My wife has a small (7") Kodak frame. The resolution is 400 x 284, yet the display is bright, the images are reasonably sharp, and the video playback is surprisingly good for low resolution footage. As I am the one who preps the files for display, I generally crop and resize to get the best out of it. However there are many different brands at this size, and the display in many of these is very disappointing.

The highest resolution I have seen is 1024 x 768, which was on an 11" frame. I have not seen a 17" frame over here.

My advice is to put together a USB key of photos and audition some frames. Most of the good ones will read from USB keys as well as memory cards etc. See what looks good to you.
