My advice is to next time dont cut DVD, but rip in two parts.
if you rip the dvd using smartripper, you can choose the chapters to rip, this way your vcd also doesnt stop at the moment somebody is talking
else, i aint got a clue
good luck anyway

Thanks for your help but, these are DVD rip downloads off a File Sharing program. I haven't tried ripping my own yet. I heard you need alot of free harddrive space...something I don't have.

in case you got it from the internet, first check for corruption. DivFix available from doom9.org has it. it will work on all avi files, also non-divx, however, dont load mpg and asf's.
if corrupted, redownload (sorry), else: first encode the full movie to AVI using TMPG. i suggest using the divx4 at 100% quality. this will take about 1gb. for 100 minutes.
afterward code the tmpg file (after checking audio).
another trick you can try is to just to rip the audio using virtualdub, and then check the created wav as audio input.
if you need any help, please first check the guides, and then send an email to me, nidoranz@Hotmail.com .
please, if you email, please tell me how far you did came. help would then be a lot more accurate.
