    Hi,
I bought a Samsung HT q100 and it says that this player can play DVD+R and -R. I usually do backups ofsome DVD from my kids as they really do not handle the discs with the greatest care ...but this Samsung player obviously cannot play these discs - "he" says it is prohibited..... i can use the originals but before they going to be destroyed by my kids I would like to know if someone knows a way to play backup DVD's on my Samsung...which format is tthe best for quality etc.....

    Thank you.

    Hi Baldrick,

thank you for your reply. I have actually not tried different brands of blank DVD's but will do. Usually I use Mctheripper to rip and Toast 7 to burn (I run a IMac with INtel). In older times (when I still ran a IBM compatible) I used "AnyDVD" to rip and burn. I will try if the player takes DIVX DVD which the specifications says it will, but that was also mentioned for DVD+/- R. Furthermore, I read that DIVX DVD's do not have the menue and capitals, is that right?

    Thanks for your help.

    Cheers,

hi i have two samsung ddv players one high def and the htq system the high def isnt as fussy as the htq system its the firmware they have used in the htq that makes it fussy about the css i have used the recode method with no problems at all as nero recode removes all the css and makes it playable on the htq systems im hoping that they will do a firmware update that may fix this annoying problem but until then the way i have used will help for the mean time

you can also try using dvdshrink that seems to have worked from what i have seen.
Also dvd decrypter and use the region free and remove puos (from the tools section) seems to have worked for me this morning.
hope this helps you these methods are working fine for me on my ht-q 20

  9. The problem is if the ISO was created with an old version of nero, clone dvd and a few others... It has something to do with the DVD player understanding that the ISO was created by copying software...

I know I had the same problem for a while.

Use ISO Buster to extract the files from the ISO then burn the files as DVD-Video...

Works everytime, and I use real cheapo disks burning at 16x! Nero 7 ultra.
