I'm considering the move to Mac....

I presently use Ulead Video Studio 10Plus - for editing my analog movies.
I'm pretty well pleased with it - except for the cumbersome burn routine.

Anyone have experience with both these applications - would I be losing anything?

How about text/title support on iMovie? Menus? One thing I found lacking on Ulead was submenus - like having 'grouped chapter selection ' -

and I think (it's been a while since I've worked with it):
Main Menu - allow play movie or go to chapters (I think you can fool Ulead into this... but I think it just goes to the 1st chapter page; it doesn't support a chapter menu)

    and something like
    chapters 1-4
    chapters 5-8 etc....

I've also laid down audio tracks for slideshows... and overlayed audio during a movie (then I had 2 soundtracks (mixed)

I guess the other thing would be speed and quality.

    Any input is appreciated.
    Thank you
    TM

Do what you want in the ulead product , menu's aren't high on the "things to do" list , pretty basic , but it dose allow one to add chapter menu's , just nothing for anything else .

Moving to a mac would be seen as going over the top .

All you need to add some flair and to replace the menu would be

The gimp - background development .
Dvdauthorgui - generate basic dvd .
Use pgcdemux to demux to separate video and audio streams from uleads authored dvd from hd folder .
Add this as single title to dvdauthorgui .
Go abouts adding menu backgrounds , buttons , and basic linking , don't forget chapters if required .
When link's are double checked , output to folder .
Play test in more than 2 program's to confirm menu works as expected .
Fix up nav errors with pgcedit ... ask if you need help with those .
    Burn with imgburn instead .

Check out some of my guides in the guides section will give you a good start .
