  1. Since apple now uses intel in their laptops does this mean that apple and regular laptops are basically the same??? Im thinking of getting a mac pro because im kind of sick of regular computers and wanted to try something different... plus i have talk to numerous people that have apples and they always rave on how good they are but i figure it was only because of the o.s. but since they dont use ibm chips anymore seems like they will be like any other computer only with a different o.s in it.... I was thinking of downloading the new apple o.s. when it comes out in sept.

  2. OS X only installs and runs on Mac computers

Mac computers can run OS x and Windows

PCs and Macs have pretty much the same hardware except for a couple of added chips and BIOS on the MACs

OS X lookes for a couple of things before it will install and that is being Hardware and the BIOS. You would need some hacked version of OS X to get to install on a NON-MAC hardware platform.

Actually the new Macs do not have a traditional BIOS, thus are a bit different from normal PCs.

If you had a special hacked version of OSX I guess you COULD install it on a normal PC but of course since OSX is built for specific hardware if your hardware was to far off you might have some issues.

My advice? If you want to run OSX, get a Mac. ESPECIALLY if it would be your first time with OSX.
