    Hi friends,

I have converted one avi file (Xvid compressed) to DivX format using Ultra AVI converter. The conversion went fine but the video was like stop and go (jerky) The quality was excellent but the movie couldnt be enjoyed due to this prob. It was not smooth running. Can anyone help me out on this? how do i keep the video smooth?

Also is it possible to join multiple xvid file into one and then convert it into divx format? pls suggest a software for both the above problems
    Thanks a lot!

    Nilay.

AVI Demux can be used to combine files.

There is no benefit converting Xvid to Divx. There are pretty much interplayable.

Ultra is a simple all-in-one converter. I would be dubious of most of what it produces. Jerkiness is usually a sign of changed framerates (i.e. you have encoded at a framerate different to the source), but it could also be a problem with the source file.

AutoGK or Dr Divx are more reliable.

Dr Divx i tried but it doesnt convert. Also there are not many options to convert to version less than 6 as my pleyr doesnt support Divx ultra.
    Thanks a lot!

You don't need a Divx Ultra player to play Divx 6 encoded files. You only need it for menus/chapters etc. Divx 6 video will play happily on any certified player, Ultra or not.
