I have been experimenting with CCE and it converts AVI -> MPG at extremely fast speeds, which rival those (IMHO) of TMPG.
Now the only problem is my outputted MPG file is always the same resolution as the source AVI file, how do I change the resolution on CCE? Checked around, couldnt find any options.
I hear things about frame serving or something, can some one clear this up for me? thanks.

Use VirtualDub with its Resize filter. Then frameserve with it (this will make a psuedo AVI file). Using the frameserved AVI into CCE and encode as usual.
