  1. Looking for a m4a converter that can convert to wav. Looking for free program. Can anyone point me in the right direction? Thanks much.

    You might try Mediacoder, or look through the audio encoder section in 'Tools' for programs that will do AAC to WAV: https://www.videohelp.com/tools/sections/audio-encoders

  3. iTunes will do it. It's silly to install it just to do the conversion, but a lot of people who use it as a media player are unaware of its conversion abilities. Change the audio import settings to WAV at your desired sample rate and size, and then right click on the file you want to convert (in your library) and click "convert to WAV."

    Try WinFF, It will convert a million things and it has a preset for .wav files, make sure to download version 0.291, free, fast and funky!

    Any converter that can accept MP4 audio files as input should be able to do it. Apple just uses the .m4* extensions to differentiate between MP4 files a little better (and so iTunes/the iPod would be better able to tell that .m4a is an audiobook, etc.)
    If cameras add ten pounds, why would people want to eat them?
