I remember messing with WME many years ago and it was complete crap. But like an idiot...I decided to try a new(er) version of Windows Media Encoder. First test encode...a simple uncompressed .AVI and what do I get?
CRASH
Send/Submit This Error To Microsoft?

I must be a complete friggin' idiot.

Only trouble I've encountered with it is when you feed it a MPEG, it slows to a crawl if you try to make any changes. DV-AVI on the other hand is not a problem.

Ive been using since it came out , and while switching through options is still slow , its not once , ever locked up or crashed on the new p4 system .

 About time .

Sometimes the user interface goes non-responsive while it works. Just let it finish.

I found it to be remarkably slow, but the output quality was excellent.

That's usually the case when encoding to any highly compressed format, the more its compressed the longer it takes.Originally Posted by festmaster
