Windows Media Encoder 9 quirky

I just downloaded windows media encoder 9 and restarted my pc.
It was really funny what happened when I try to open, 50% of the time it just comes up with the splash screen, the next time it will open with the regular 4 options, when i choose the option I want (broadcasting) it just gives me a error asking me to send the error report and gives the option of restarting the encoder.

I finally narrowed what I believe to be the problem, when I disabled plug & play and universal plug and play host, rebooted the pc. It allowed me to select the broad cast mode but it would only allow me to broadcast a audio file, like this really helps since I want to broadcast my capture card (which won't work with p&p disabled) with the push feature within wme to my webserver.)Does any one know what this problem might be and how I might correct it? I would rather try to fix it rather then format and instal everything back again.

I can't help with this one, it wouldn't broadcast for me either. BUT, give Video Lan Client VLC a go

I tried to use that but I have two problems, the company I use for hosting didn't give me a port to push the broadcast with nor does vlc have a way to put in a login or password to access the server. looks like it would work as a pull method for me but not a push with my serving/hosting.
