I need to convert some AVIs (Encoded in Microsoft DV codec) into an H.264 MP4 file but with an MP3 audio stream.

So far I've noticed that Sorenson Squeeze and most other programs out there can only do AAC audio when encoding in AVC.

So far the only program I found that could do MP3 is Autodesk Cleaner... but Ive tried it and the resulting encoded file looks very bad (blocky and flickery).
Maybe my settings are off somewhere but I have no idea what I could do to remove this problem.

But is Cleaner the ONLY program out there that will encode an H.264 file with MP3 Audio??
I've heard that VisualDub on Mac will do it.. but anything else out there for PC? (I've tried TMPGEnc Xpress, Super, MeGui, and already mentioned Sorensen)

You can use Virtualdub along with the VFW version of x264 to make an AVI with H.264 and mp3.

Here's a link to the VFW version of x264:

Edit: MeGUI will let you make an mp4 with h.264 and mp3.
Got my retirement plans all set. Looks like I only have to work another 5 years after I die........
