I was wondering, if there is somebody out there that can help me with my problem.

What I would like to do is edit a mpeg file, what i want to edit is the the screen, i want to freehand crop the screen to what ever shape or size i prefer.

What i am currently doing is making a motion menu for superman, and what i would like to do is change the screen size to the same as superman logo, (S in a Shield)

    Is it possible.

Please help and advise to send me in the right direction.

    Thank You.

    Dal.

@dbanga: If you, like the rules suggest, try using a more descriptive topic title than "Advise Required", maybe more will come here with suggestions...

You didn't mention what software you were using so...

There is a tutorial on how to do something like this with EditStudio you can see by clicking here.

The tutorial shows how to make a mask to make titles fade at the top and don't show on the bottom of the screen. But if you used a video file, you would get the same "in a shape" effect.

There is no restriction on the shape of your matte; wherever you have white you will see your video, wherever you have black you won't see it, wherever you have grey you will see a faded version that depends on how dark the grey is.

Adobe Premiere tutorials, for this concept, are at www.wrigleyvideo.com in the guides. It's not going to say "make a cut-out for a menu", but this concept is covered in another guide. Look for it.
