  1. Just about to buy SONY MDSSP55 which is just the minidisc recording unit from a Hifi system (Sony CMT-SP55MD)

I have no HiFi to link this up 2, and as I need an amp to use speakers I was wondering If I would be able to use the amp in me DVD player (alba 103 or maybe 104 dunno which) and link it to the recoder via the optical out port.

if this is possible I have several questions...

    1. Is this possible
    2. Any comments about this setup

well, i can tell you that yes, you can make cd to MD copies from your dvd player, as to what you're suggsting using the amp in your dvd player to play minidiscs, i don't really understand. i breifly owned an alba 103, and it didnt have an amp itegrated into it.....

  3. ok first off, your dvd player would need inputs and outputs for this.

input to get your minidisc signal to the amplifier.

output to get your cd signal back to the minidisk.

if you only have an output on your dvd player, you will not be able to amplify the signal. you will only be able to record your cd tracks to the minidisk.
