  1. i have never had a problem copy my old dvd's incase anything happened ot my originals. now when i put the original in the dvd player it won't even read or recogize anything in there, but will recognize one of the copy versions i had done about 4 months ago. this is not one 1 dvd this is one 3 of my older ones. all comedy classics. any help i have a lg dvd player/ burner and even powerdvd won't paly them

    Open tray and blow some air into it , thats about the best you can do to clean the lens without pulling it apart .

    If the unit is getting on , two years or older , it could be a sign of it wearing out depending on how much work it has done over the time you have owned it , but it might just be wanting the firmware updated to start off with .

    Remember , this media dosent tolerate not being cared well for , and there are time's when all of us have suffered purchased dvd's which have decided to no longer work properly .

    Isobuster might be worth investigating , but if they cant even be read by the unit , it wont help .

    Place the dvd with the printed side upside down on a hard , flat surface , and use a soft lint free cloth , gently , and slowly clean from the center to the outer rim in a straight line , do this a couple of times , then try them again .

    Might get them readable .
