Probably (or hopefully) a straightforward problem for you experts !

I have converted many avi's using svcd2dvd and what puzzles me is that the prog always gives a different end result in terms of screen ratio output. Sometimes the avi will be widescreen and the resultant DVD will remain widescreen, sometimes the output will have been 'stretched to fit' the full screen.

I appreciate that the source file will be driving this but there don't seem to be many settings within svcd2dvd whereby I can control this.

    Any help guys ?

  2. S2D is very good at determining what the output display ratio should be for AVI files. That being said, there are some things to consider-
If the duration of your source files exceed a certain limit, your project will be rendered as "Half D1" (this will show in your log if that is the case) and this setting will cause all the files to be rendered as 4:3. There is a registry setting to override this but it is not recommended as it will degrade output quality.
If that is not the issue, there is a setting- "Force to 16:9" -that can be used , but it will force it for all the files in a project.
