Hi. Among the guides, on 'authoring DVD with subtitles' I found this sentence:
Is this sentence still valid for both IFOEDit and ReJig or some more recent versions (of IFOEdit or of Rejig) are now clear of these bugs?
Thanks a lot.

You must resize to dvd compliant video frame sizes.
What video frame size/resolution are the m2v files in? -
I start from a, say, 640x272 AVI movie, I use VirtualDub's Resize filter to resize + to add it borders to turn it into a 720x576 movie (I use PAL), then I frameserve it to my encoder.
The only excetption is that I tell the encoder to create a 'square pixels' (TMPGenc's 'VGA' option) M2V and, usually, original DVDs are either 4:3 or 16:9. -
Video DVD specs do not support square pixels (it is 1:1 AR), only 4:3 and 16:9.
You can correct the ratio in the headers with Restream or DVDPatcher. -
...and, usually, original DVDs are either 4:3 or 16:9.
Try ...and, always, original DVDs are either 4:3 or 16:9.
And so should yours be.
I don't know what he did in VDub, but if the 1:1 result looks "normal", then patching to 4:3 or 16:9 isn't going to help. He'll have to reencode. Better would be to frameserve using AviSynth, using a script generated by FitCD. Here's the FulciLives FitCD guide:Originally Posted by Abond
