Hi, I'm arriving in Vancouver on 27th May and I'm looking for a prepaid Sim card for my Blackberry. I've heard that Fido is the best bet. I'll be doing a bus tour around the Rockies and the flying to Montreal and Toronto for 3 weeks. I only need a cheap deal so I have a phone in emergencies. What's the best deal you know about? Ca you suggest a telco shop I can check out?

Like I said, do you know any plans better than Fido?

As BJ_M pointed out, Fido is owned by Rogers but there is a difference. The Fido plans tend to suit city use - Rogers is Canada wide (you pay extra on Fido to get the Rogers coverage area). I believe Fido also has per second billing.

My experience in the Canadian west your coverage is better with Bell or Telus (doesn't matter which as they share, Telus is big in the west and Bell in the east).

I don't know much about Virgin and they may have a better short term deal but travelling around the Rockies I think your best bet for coverage is going to be with Telus (or Bell).
