  1. I am trying to back up one of my dvd's. I WANT to keep the black boxes at top and bottom so it will play just like the native dvd at 16:9 on my ntsc basic (non-widescreen) tv. When I convert with tmpenc, the video fills the whole screen, making everything taller and thinner. How can I keep the proper aspect ratio?
    My settings:
    Video tab
    size: 352x480
    Aspect ratio: 4:3 display
    Frame rate 23.97

    Advanced tab
    Source a/r: 16:9 525 ntsc
Image position: Fit to Frame, preserve aspect ratio

Thanks in advance! BTW, is anyone else up doing this at 2am, only to have to get up in a few hours??? Ugh

set your source aspect ratio to 16x9 under the advanced tab and it should do it.

  4. Silly me.....I forgot to enable 3:2 pulldown on the video tab. That's what I get for staying up so late!
