sound from m2v

Hi, i am trying to convert a m2v file to mpeg
I am able to get the video for tmpgenc but cant get the sound
i read on the help page to use virtual dub but that won't open m2v files
any help is appreciated thanks

If the file is named correctly, an m2v is just video - no audio.

Rename it from m2v to mpg and open it up in MediaPlayer to see if it even contains audio.

By the way, VDub doesn't open MPEG2 files, and I've found even TMPG chokes on certain ones. One workaround is to open the mpg in DVD2AVI, save the project and then open the resulting files (.d2v and an audio file, either an .mpa or .wav) in TMPG.
