    Hi,
    I've received a MP3 file from a friend of mine but unfortunately the quality is very bad. The first part of roughly 50 sec is good, then there is a large part completely without sound (more than 3 minutes) and then another part with sound
    I wonder if it is possible to cut the part without sound and how

    Try Audacity, you can cut/edit part w/o sound.....good luck!!!

    MP3DirectCut cuts and or normalizes without re-encoding. Audacity, while a great editor, requires decoding and re-encoding.
