Two .AVI files(700 mb each) to one .AVI (700 mb)file?

Can anyone tell me if it is possible to compress two .avi files(700mb each) to one .avi file(700mb) or is it only possible with the original dvd?

Possible? Yes, it is possible. It is even possible to compress two 700 mb avi files to one 10mb.
The question you need to have an answer is if such compression is possible to watch. Maybe, if the audio in these two avi's is ac3 5.1 at 448 kbps. You need to compress the sound to lower bitrate and stereo only.

First what you need to do is to analyse the files you have.
The best app for this is GSpot (IMO). then you need to process your files regarding the information you get from the analysis.
one of the app which is recomended and will automate your way is autogk. But be aware, it is not perfect due to automation.
