Not sure what is called what I am trying to do, but here goes.

I am trying to make an mpeg 2 file that can be viewed as a literacy aid in primary schools.

I would like to make the mpeg file so that it looks like this.

Any video footage (minus audio) playing on the screen with an mp3 file playing the audio. The words spoken in the audio file will be highlighted on the screen as they play. This is so the child can listen to the audio and follow the words. Ideally, I would like to have the words highlighted as a different colour, or even better, underlined, or even have a piece of small clipart display underneath the spoken words.

I have heard that Karaoke Kit for windows will do the trick. Or is there a better program to do this.I don’t actually need the child to use a microphone to interact with the mpeg file, just read it out aloud to an adult as it is said on the screen.
