    Hi,

I want to upload a video in youtube, but is there a way to protect it?..so if people download it will have a FLV upside down and blurred. I say this, because I went to a video website where I dowlonaded the FLV file, but it looks like it is encrypted, blurred and upside down.

Ps: also, is there a way to fix the protected FLV?

Thanks in advance for your help.

    From here: @http://www.chilevision.cl/farandula/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=162&Item id=38

Jus days ago.. the FLV's from that website were blurred and upside down, the audio was always fine, now the video is just black.

I use DownloadHelper to get the FLV, do you think it is protected?

It's not protected... you probably just need to install Gabest's FLV Splitter, maybe the VP6/VP62 codec (or possibly ffdshow). Or just view the FLV using VLC.

    Couple of things:

    1. YouTube isn't a subscription service. The POINT is to be viewable. Like broadcasting.
    2. YouTube corporation would expect to ALWAYS have ultimate control over the content they're presenting; "encrypting" something would bypass their ultimate control, so they wouldn't allow that. You want to do that with your own website, FINE. Not theirs.
    3. Seems to me, you're having problems with your own computer's setup. Have you tried viewing those files via somebody else's computer? The movies on that link work OK on mine.
    4. Your link isn't a YouTube site!

    thank you for your answers.

I can watch many FLVs in my hard drive from youtube, etc.. (codec from ffdshow). My only problem are the FLV's from that website I posted, can't watch any video.
I tested the FLV file with VLC player and doesn't work..(just get the audio). Same thing happen with media player that works with ffdshow.

Do I need to enable something in ffdshow? (the FLV1 is enabled to libavcodec in the video decoder configuration)
Btw, the version I'm using is "October 17, 2006"

Unplug in Firefox reports the embedded player is SWF, but that could mean Real Player or Macromedia or Adobe depending on the version. My swf viewer on a Mac reports it's version 8. The file hd cached by Firefox plays as an flv and converts correctly in iSquint.

As to the embedded player, Real Player won't open it. HexEdit FAT shows only code. SWF Viewer for Mac OSX opens it as a still frame, the reporter bent over next to two contestants back ends. That is also where the converted video ends.

Short answer, Firefox 2.0.0.3 with Flash allowed (I use FlashBlock) will play the video and it hd caches in spite of what the embedded player settings say (0 kb used).

Protect Youtube? You've got to be kidding me.

Some of you people are taking too many cues from MPAA, who are also off their rockers and living in their own world.

Could be using the new On2VP6 (or is it 7 or 8?) codec, which won't yet be supported by all viewers. And there'll be a difference between viewing it via Browser plugin vs. Standalone player.

Have you tried opening the DL'd file in your browser?

    Here's the codec from GSpot:

It plays fine (video and audio) using VLC.

    @kokolo:

Forgot to mention, the problem may be with your downloader program. I'm not familiar with Downloadhelper. The first time I tried to download it (using "unPlug" within Firefox), I got a small file that displayed like in dnix71's post above. Then I fetched the file from my Firefox cache and it worked. Filesize should be a little over 8 megs (see picture above).

    Here's a thought...
Movies at theaters now include an invisible distribution logo only visible with special glasses. Perhaps you could make one for your video?

That Gspot says 12 fps? Sounds jumpy...This is how they used to make video on the internet small...by dropping half the frames. Now, the frames are kept but the kbps are reduced.

Thank you squash, what ffdshow are you using to play this file? My version is October 17, 2006.

The FLV is fine. Today I tested it with Bitcomet flv player and worked. btw, when i try to uploaded it to youtube, it is rejected.. probably youtube work only with FLV1.

Looks like it is codec problem when i tried to play it with MPC.

I have VP5, VP6 enable in ffdshow, but still doesn't work the video, just the audio. I can't even convert the FLV file to another format like AVI or WMV to upload it to youtube or other. Can anyone tell me where to get the FLV4/VP6 codec?

    Have you tried vixy?

    http://vixy.net/

free online converter for flv to mp4 or mov

edit: This only works for YouTube
double edit: The real url is [http://www.chilevision.cl/flvflash/sqp/2007/enero/miss_reef.flv

open _cache_001_ in notepad in your Firefox cache and scroll down to the bottom. You must first go to the page and play the video for this to work.

    @kokolo:

I used vlc 0.8.6. It's the latest version according to their website.

I tried converting with Vdubmod, opening as directshowsource via avisynth. It opened and converted but the video was upside down and full of glitches, but my ffdshow build is 4 or 5 months old, maybe a newer one would help.

I converted it with no problems, however, using Replay Converter from Applian (I got it as part of their Replay A/V package). Converted it to AVI (xvid, mp3) and it looks about as good as the original. They may have a trial of it you could try. If you want the file let me know and I'll put it up on a filesharing site.

I'm off to work. Will check back this evening.
