  1. When converting lotr avi to mpg with TMPGEnc the mpg file has redness to it. The red slowly appears then suddenly disappears. The source avi plays fine without the red. It only appears after I convert it to mpg. Is it some kind of copy protection? Any solutions?

Well, depending on your source. It's prob. a divx or some D/L clip done poorly or something. Gotta expect that when you D/L clips off the internet., etc, etc.

Anyways, you maybe able to fiddle with tmpg's "basic color" settings. Trial and error your way to what looks good/acceptable to ya.

  3. This sounds like a angelpotion divx codec problem. early versions of this codec produced a different colour through a video clip at random spots.

i had this problem and was then not able to remove the codec and had to reformat to get rid of it.
