Dear users.
I have started to use the HAUPPAUGE HVR-1300. The cards works really good but I have noticed that during VHS capture there are some CUBE ARTIFACTS present especilly when dark or red colors are presented. I had some other cards in the past. Some had those CUBE ARTIFACTS, other had really good capture without it.
I am wondering is there some other 3rd party software that you would recommend that have much better MPG ENCODER without those visible CUBE ARTIFACTS on the picture for HVR-1300?
Thanks in advance.

Here is the screenshot of the problem
Please take a note on the Rick Mayall's face.
There are cubes.
But they are not always visible, it depends from the combination of the colors and some other conditions.

The HVR-1300 has a hardware MPEG encoder. The card is doing the MPEG encoding so no external MPEG encoder will get rid of the macroblocks. The only way you'll reduce the macroblocking is to capture at a higher bitrate.
