  1. Hello and thank you in advance for your help.

I have a direct DV file captured from my MiniDV camcorder using WinDV, it's 13GB and plays nicely in all players, my system is Win 7 64bit. I used to use DvDate before but now it's giving me this message:

Video not available. The file xxx seems not to be a correct AVI file.

Is anything missing? is there a better way to embed the date-code on to a DV file for free?

    Sincerely yours.

    Shyrah.

Try some other tools and see if they find the datecode, DV Sub Maker, dv_datecode, etc.

  3. Baldrick, thank you very much for your answer, however both those progrmas make a srt file and do not EMBED the dare into the video like DvDate does.

I searched around and found another user with the same problem and he solved it by following this advice below which I do not understand at all:

"It's Haali splitter. Needs to deselect AVI "

Do you have any ideal what this means?

    Thanks again.

Do you have haali media splitter installed? Then you could try uninstall it. Or reinstall it and disable avi in the configuration.

  5. Thanks again Baldrick, I uninstalled it and still no use, But I've managed to solve the problem by transferring the video to another PC with a 32 bit win 7 and the DVDate program worked perfectly, so I guess it's just not working in 64 bit win 7.

    I appreciate your time.

    Shyrah.
