  1. Hi all im new at burning vcd and svcd becuase i just bought a dvdplayer. I have some questions which maybe someone can answer.

-When i burn an .bin file with cdrwin (vcd) the cd doesnt work with my dvd player but when get the mpg out of the .bin and burn it as vcd with easy cd creator it works perfect , does anybody know what the problem is?(cdrwin is legal version btw).

-So i could see vcd,s YES i are happy but then the other day i came about a new mpg2 svcd .bin file and tried again like this site said too burn it with cdrwin and again it didnt do it so i tried again easy cd creator but their was NO option for svcd in ezc so someone told me too use nero so i burned it with nero but everytime when its almost finished i get an error and the cd wont play. anyone knows a solution.

o yeah one more thing i know my dvd player plays svcd becuase i burned an mpg2 of 17mb with nero and put it in and it played perfect so my question is why can nero burn the 17mb correctly and when the mpg2 is much longer it gives an error(i treid serveral speed).

i am trying too burn the lord of the rings svcd.

    Please help me guys
    thx in advance

  2. is your mpeg actually mpeg2 compliant?

I always demux, then remux with bbmpeg with scan off sets and timestamps.

Are you sure your mpeg isn't mpeg1? this would explain why easycd isn't giving you svcd option.

When you want to burn a SVCD with NERO, and drag and drop the MPeg file into NERO, does it give you a message? If not, the file has to be SVCD compatible.

What error message do you get?

  4. The LOTR:FOTR DVD->SVCD .bin for disc 1 does have a standards-compliant SVCD file. As I understand it, the problem you're having is that Nero poops out at the end of the burn.

Check the How To page here for burning an SVCD with Nero and make sure you have selected Level 1. Otherwise, that MPG won't fit on an 80-minute disc. Nero may be trying to overburn and is unable to do it in Level 2.

If you were already in Level 1, then you might just be getting a buffer underrun or some other mundane error ... it's an 800-plus meg file, so an error wouldn't be a surprise.

In case you just wanted to be sure, it _can_ be done. My question is whether the .bin can be burned via Nero without some intermediary step...

If the file is more than 800mb, then use a 90min CD-R

    That's bull.

I burn svcd's just fine with Nero.
its either a player problem or a file problem (non-compatible mpef files)

Hey, scissors do you set timestamp for all frames? Or for all I and P frames? Or.... only for I frames?
