I am working with a video that is 1 1/2 hours long and am trying to burn it to dvd. When I import the video into Vegas, it says the video is 320x240x32 25.000 fps .mpeg2. I am assembling all the pieces in Vegas and trying to render it. Problem is, when it finishes rendering, the file is 4.3MB. Then when I import that into Architect, the file becomes 4.9MB??? No idea what is going on. Normally I can fit 2 hrs of video on DVD. As I mentioned, this is only 1 1/2 hours. I am trying to make it a 4:3 project. All settings seem to be ok.

    Thanks for any help.

    4.3MB is pretty small

What settings are you using when you render out of Vegas DVDA must be rendering to make your files dvd-compliant...

Oops... I'm sorry... I meant GB not MB.

Yeah I'm trying to make it for a dvd. Basically its making the files to big to fit onto a dvd.

I've tried everything in rendering out of Vegas... I even did the Architect video stream and then the ac3 for the audio. I'm making it NTSC standard as I want to keep it 4:3 for this.

What I dont get is why the output file is 4.3 GB, but then after I get it into Architect, and build the simple menu, it bumps it up to 4.9 GB.

Just go on and hit Make DVD>Prepare DVD.
The size of your finished DVD should be proper.
DVDA often reports that a finished DVD would be larger than it is.

I would also check the audio setting in Project Properties to make sure it matches the source you are using. If not, DVDA will re-encode it.
