I have a strange problem, could someone answer please?
I capture a lot of TV programs and converter them to DVD’s. I check the field order using TMPGEnc and then convert it with CCE using proper field order flag. I have always followed this method and have been successful. But, with a recent capture, I have faced a problem of the field order being different in parts of the capture. When I play the resultant file on a normal TV, the picture stutters in certain parts. But, when I play on the PC or a friend’s 100HZ CRT TV, there is no problem obviously, as it is deinterlaced by the TV.
I can break the file into parts, change the field order where required and join them together, but my question is not about that. My question is as following.
When I played the DVD in my old DVD player (supports only Interlaced and not Progressive), connected to my Plasma TV, the picture still stutters like on a normal TV. Isn’t the Plasma TV supposed to deinterlce the picture? If it deinterlaces the signal from the DVD player, why should it still stutter wherever the field is different? When I used the same DVD player, why is it OK on my friend’s 100HZ CRT TV?
Am I missing something? Or am I to use some additional settings in the TV?
My DVD player is JVC XV-N33 and my Plasma TV is LG 42PC1RR.
