    Hey all,

I have read for hours trying to get this to work. I want to load all my DVD's onto my computer and run em through the 360. New Dell Vista Home Premium E1705. All connected with MCE Extender etc. Just want to be able to access my files via the 360! I have seen a few free programs but all are way to inconsistant. I do not mind paying for a program if it will work. I know how to use DVDshrink, Decrypter etc just not how to get my 360 to play. Do i have to transcode to .wmv or is there a way for the 360 to read the .vob file? thanks in advance all.

I know this isn't an x-box forum just wanted to frame the endstate goal.
In a nutshell I need to get DVD to WMV in an easy to use, consistant way.

BTW I really don't want to run Tversity or equivilant. I have 850 gig of hard drive so large files are not an issue. Thanks agian- J

    Mats,
Thank you and I have read that. Like I said I have tried many of the free ones with at best 50% success. Don't know if I am doing something wrong but typically I get the audio out of sync with the vid or it simply wont play on WMC. I appreciate all the info you guys have posted and the tutorials are easy to understand. But for some reason I just am not haveing a lot of luck so far. Any good commercial products out there that you can vouch for?
    Thanks again Videohelp.com ROCKS!

Just reinstalled AutoMKV. Totally freezes before I can do anything. No luck on that one on Vista.
Anybody used MagicDVD ripper? Trying my first rip now but it doesn't show WMV11 support ;( see how it goes i guess.
anybody used any of these programs?

You'll find most "commercial" offerings are no more than pieces of freeware who someone put a brand on, trying to make money of other peoples efforts.
The demand so far for converting to WMV (a proprietary format) is slim (but will grow, I presume, as it's all XBOX 360 seems capable of understanding) - most apps are geared towards more universal codecs like DivX or XviD. The ones who should be interested in an app like this, should be MS themselves, since they (and their customers) are the only ones really interested in WMV.
