Help! I'm trying to create DVDs from .avi files using ConvertXtoDVD. I've tried to convert four different videos. With each one, they play fine on my home DVD player ... for about five minutes or less. The picture then "pixelates," gets "choppy," starts and stops. The audio breaks up in concert with the video problems. Eventually, the video either smooths out and plays normally or it causes the DVD player to start the video at the beginning.

    Suggestions?

Have you tried played the burnt dvd media on your computer with a software dvd player? If it works it's probably a dvd media problem. Some standalone dvd players are very picky about the media, some just plays dvd-r and good media brands so try other media: www.nomorecoasters.com and www.videohelp.com/dvdmedia

Test from the HDD before burning to make sure it isn't ConvertXtoDVD, then test the media you have burned. I second Baldrick's suggestion - media is your most likely problem.

Thanks! I purchased DVD-R disks and the movies run without a problem.
