DVD Shrink out of memory... not from rip

Hi,

I have error "out of memory" when loading the vob files using DVD Shrink.
I've read that it indicates bad rip. Here's what I did:

1) I selected 3 movies that I like: A, B, C.
2) For each, I used DVD Decrypter to get the vob files to my HDD
3) For each, I used BadgetIT's VOB2MPG to get the MPG file
4) For each, I used DVD Lab to demux them to mpv and mpa
5) For each, I used Cuttermaran to cut them to gain only pieces I want
6) Then, I used TMPGEnc to mux them back to mpg
7) Finally, I used BadgerIT's SVCD2DVD to create a new DVD.

However, the final size is bigger than a standard DVD, 4.8GB... so I need DVD Shrink (any alternatives, btw?) to shrink it down to 4.3GB or lower.

When I load the files using DVD Shrink, I get "out of memory" error.
I have 1 GB of RAM with no other applications open.


Note:
Movie B and C have the same frame size (720x480 NTSC) ... but movie A is odd, it's 'square' (480x480 NSTC) after using SVCD2DVD... before, movie B and C are 16:9 (B is NTSC, C is PAL) ... and movie A is 4:3 NTSC.


Question:
Am I doing this all wrong? Or maybe there is a faster/easier/better method to do this?

Try run fixvts on the video_Ts before using dvd shrink.

If that wont work I guess that the 480x480 and mixing PAL and NTSC on same dvd is not that good for dvd shrink. You could instead shrink the mpegs after cutted with cuttermaran using Rejig.

Mixing PAL and NTSC on the same DVD is technically not allowed. I've read posts here before about what some have done to get it to work using DVD Lab. Do a search. I'd say Baldrick is probably 100% correct as I have never read of DVD Shrink being able to accept 480x480 video, which is what SVCD is. Also, it sounds to me like SVCD2DVD is not converting your SVCD input file to valid DVD size but maybe doing what we call a "patch trick" to get it to work. DVD Shrink may be looking at the file, seeing it's 480x480 for this video and going "Woah! That's not going to work." Mixing PAL and NTSC is probably too much for DVD Shrink too.

By the way, DVD Lab will accept 480x480 input for DVD. Even though it's not technically legal, DVD Lab knows how to make it work, so maybe you just need to read up on how to author PAL and NTSC to the same DVD using DVD Lab and just use it for everything. Maybe you didn't know that about DVD Lab.
