    I´m trying to use DVD Shrink to shrink a 8,91 GB-VIDEO_TS-file but the program stops and leave the message "short of memory" or someting like that. What to do?

    Check how much freespace you have ... system restore monitoring takes max 12%, recycle bin around another 10% ... so your down 22% of drive space before anything else starts.

    Then there's cleaning out old junk files ... ccleaner for most ... thou it fails to clear all from temporary internet folder.

    If you need to free up HDD space, a couple of easy things to do;

    -By default, the recycle bin has a capacity far greater than you are ever likely need and the percentage of drive space reserved for it lowers the total available hard drive space. To lower the amount of space reserved for the recycle bin, right-click on the recycle bin icon and select "Properties". Adjust the capacity slider down to, perhaps, 10% or even lower if necessary. At 10%, the recycle bin should be able to handle any normal task. If you are using more than one drive, there is the ability to independently adjust the recycle bin for each drive.

    -Have you tried cleaning and removing all but the latest restore point using the built-in Windows disc cleaner. ?
    Right-click on "My Computer", click on "C" drive, "Properties", "Disc Cleanup".

    -Download/install "temp cleaner", a Java-based application that thoroughly cleans temporary files and is configurable for different levels of cleaning.
    A link to the website below.

    Be advised that you should always create a restore point prior to using cleaners and temp cleaner is no exception.

    Yes. Some copy protections can cause that problem in DVDShrink, basically inability to parse bogus data, probably in the first cell of the main movie and perhaps elsewhere as well. Try DVDFabHDDecrypter and rip full disc, then open the rip in DVDShrink. What movie is it?

    If Shrink is running unusually slow and the amount of memory being buffered is constantly rising, it is almost certainly a copy protection issue.

    DVD Shrink is very outdated and can't cope with newer copy protection schemes. The problem you are having is DVD Shrink is "crashing" because the newer copy protection used is not recognized and therefore Shrink can't handle it.

    But before I use DVD Shrink, I have run the files in DVD Fab Decrypter.

    Now I have installed the latest version of DVD Fab Decryper and the output-files from this program can be shrinked by DVD Shrink!
