  1. Are there any settings that i could change, nero is taking about 15-20 mins to burn a normal audio cd at 32 speed. Tried the same discs round at a friend and the burn at 6-7mins. The buffer is dropping off and building up and again. The Burn doesnt actually fail. I have two Pioneer 110.
    Thanks for any help

If it makes any difference it burns the first 30% fine.

Maybe check to see if your burner has changed into PIO mode (instead of DMA) ?
    If in doubt, Google it.

many things can affect burn speed, here's a few to ponder:

    got lotsa RAM?
    plenty headroom on HD?
    have you defragged lately?
are you testing & burning, or just burning?
are you going drive to drive? or onto HD first?

Anything running in the background? - like Norton Anti-virus or diskeeper. If you are online while burning is Windows update or Symantec Live-update running?

    hi,
what oldandinthe way said about programs running is probably what your issue is... if you have alot of programs running in the background not only does it make computer run slower but also will make your burning process run slower...

even though your your disk will burn at a high rate.... your burnin sofware by default will pick the best burning rate, which is generally alot less than the max..!!!!!

however there is one factor..... when it come to audio cd.... my self i never burn at the max rate !! i preferr to burn at 4x and no more than 8x..!! the reason is that at higher burnin rates you start to lose quality... also even though you get a good burn.. sometimes they don't play well in other cd players...!!
