Hi I am currently using DVD Architect 5.0 and am trying to render a home movie which goes for about 1hr15min.

The render time is 40hrs and 40mins and I was wondering if there was a way to speed this up or is it that this is normal.

Using WinXP. AMD Phenom Quad core 3.4GHz, 4GB DDR3(1333MHz) RAM, 512MB Video.

Also Vegas renders the source file in less than 4hrs so I don't know why exactly, that it has to take the better part of 2 days to render them to Blu-Ray.
    Any help would be appreciated.

  2. Sounds abnormal . Is DVDA doing the rendering or only authoring (pass through)? ie. are you re-encoding the input files ?

Why not use vegas to do the rendering with the DVDA template ? DVDA should only be used for authoring

DVD Architect 5.0 is old and pre-Blu-Ray support. Current version is 11.

What is your source format and project setting? Vegas 5.0 was the first attempt at HDV support. It had some bugs that I forget.

Normal workflow is to set project to source format (e.g. HDV), then encode ("render as") assets in Vegas. Then import rendered assets into DVDA, add menus and chapters, then output. Although DVDA will attempt to re-render non-compliant assets, you have much less control than rendering in Vegas.

Ok, both are packaged together. V11 Vegas and V5.2 DVDA.

So what about the workflow I suggested?

I experimented with the method you mentioned. All seems to be working smoothly it's going now. Can't wait till it's finished so I can test the disc in my player. Thank You
