Problems converting avi to dvd

Hello all,

Up till now I've been using this format to convert avi to dvd with no problem. However, I have some files that I can't convert because I'm getting this error message:

AVISource: couldn't locate a decompressor for fourcc xivd

I use avi2dvd and I don't think its the program because I can convert other avi files fine. Its just like 5 that have this error message.

I've downloaded the newest xvid already and it still isn't working. Any suggestions as now I'm totally clueless. Thank you.

Have you installed any codec packs? Just asking because your problem sounds like a corrupted codec. You might try using Codec Sniper to look for and delete any damaged codecs. Also FFDShow might cause problems if you have it installed.

If all that fails, you might reinstall AVI2DVD. If you are still having problems, try ConvertXToDVD instead.

Use GSpot to confirm the fourCC codes of the AVIs. I seem to recall a niggly issue where the fourCC had to be XVID (all caps) and not xvid (lowercase).

I will try out these methods and see what results I get. However, it only occurs for like a few of my avis. I have no problem with the majority that I have. Also, these few that I have problems with were converted from rmvbs. Is it possible something happened during the conversion that I did?
