If you didn't save the keys, this is probably your only hope to decrypt XP encryption >

  4. i think the
Advanced EFS data recovery software is what i am looking for.
    thanks!

after the folder is decrypted will i be able to remove the encryption all together?

Do you know about, how long it can take to decrypt a file? and then a folder with 1GB?
And if all the files have the same encryption, will it memorize the ecryption key? (so i dont have to process every file?

Once you have found and entered encryption key you can do everything you could do before to the folder.
Sorry, thankfully never had to use it, so I don't know how long to takes to search.

  6. Depending on the type of encryption and the number and size of the files, as well as the speed of the PC, this operation could take days to complete.

This will give you sufficient time to kick yourself in the ass several dozen times for not keeping a seperate copy of the encryption keys. If you are not flexible enough for this, virtually anyone you tell this story to would be willing to do it for you.

    Hi Nelson,

I saw some of your posts in "How to rip closed captions from a DVD?" and I got particularly interested in the application, you created, called ATI2SRT.

I tried to get in touch with you through PM and post in the topic but I got no reply.

I know this this not the place to post for this, but I thought this was the only way of reaching you.

Could you send me the ATI2SRT to my e-mail? I would really appreciate it?

    My e-mail is: ricardovas@yahoo.com

Thanks and sorry for any inconvenience.
