I am going to try this, since some movies I've obtained came in widescreen, and, I prefer fullscreen. I'll be using fairuse wizard 2.4, but would like to know how big I should set the file size for say a 2hr plus movie, longer, or, shorter.
I've done the reverse (avi to dvd,) and know that the file size of a dvd is larger since avi is a compressed file format. But my conversion programs for that automatically set the correct file size. But in reading the guide for fairuse, it doesn't appear that this program does the same when compressing. Or, does it?
If anyone can provide an answer to this, I greatly appreciate it.

What is your goal with the avi divx/xvid? just watch on your computer? burn avis on cds? or reconvert to dvd again?

yes, to convert widescreen format to fullscreen, then burn the converted display format to DVD.
