Derr... 'scuse the drool on your screen...

I'm brand new to this app, and I'm just getting into video. I must be missing something basic.

My ffmpegX application for Mac OS does not have a "Summary" tab, as far as I can tell. Accordingly, I am unable to follow the directions, and I am completely stuck.

I've tried to use the "Open" "Save as..." and "Encode" buttons, in the absence of the "Summary" tab, but nothing is happening. I seem to be on the "Video" tab. That's the tab on the far left of the tabs, on my app.

I've downloaded the extra three binary. I couldn't figure out how to install them, so I just double-clicked. Maybe I did that wrong. How do I determine if they are installed correctly?

Please clue me, just a little. You will be appreciated.

  2. You need to install the 3 binaries first or I bilieve nothing will work. Open up ffmpegX and go into the Top File Menu on top of your Computer monitor. Chose File > Install binaries. It will ask you to locate each one seperately (wherever they are on your Mac). Then you will need to enter the Password for your computer. They will install on their own and Voilą...

Oops. I don't see "Choose file > install binaries" in any menu, particularly not in the "file" dropdown menu. All I see there is "save preset" and "load preset" along with "Print" and "page setup."

What am I missing? Sorry to be such a dummy. Thanks again.

    'scuse me again.

I seem to have downloaded an older version. All's well now.

  5. May I ask which version of ffmpegX works for you? And does it recognize all OGM, MKV and AVI files? I'm stuck using an older version since the newest is not recognizing all files.
