  1. After updating firmwares, changing regions, checking ASPI, enabling DMA for both DVD reader and writer, I'm not able to back-up a DVD.

I'm using SlySoft's AnyDVD to decrypt and in the info window for AnyDVD, everything looks alright in the decrypting area.

I've tried three programs with which to burn; Nero's "Copy DVD," SlySoft's CloneDVD, and DVDXCopy Platinum (in both "Simple" and "Advanced" modes).

    So here's the problem...

With all of these programs it seems as though they all copy the DVD properly to the TEMP folder, but after copying to the HDD and it's time to transfer to a DVD, I get an error message (different with each program) and am forced to shut the program down, usually resulting in a wasted DVD+R or, even worse, DVD+R DL.

I've had the most success, although not 100%, with CloneDVD where the above happened, but when Windows' Error Reporting window came up, I chose neither to report the problem nor to not send so that CloneDVD would not be forced to shut down as my DVD+/-RW DL drive was still spinning as though copying data. After going to work for several hours (10 to be exact; Plenty for the DVD to finish), I ejected the disc, which was still spinning, and there was data written to it, but only about half of a disc's worth, as you can tell just by looking at the bottom of the disc.

This happens with both DVD+R and DVD+R DL discs and is becoming very annoying. Any suggestions or solutions will be welcomed and are greatly appreciated.

    Thanks!

You may want to try the combination of Ripit4me and DVDFab Decrypter.

    Cheers

  3. Why a combination of the two? I can't just use one or the other?

Sorry, it's the combination of Ripit4me and FixVTS, or DVDFab Decrypter itself.

    All freeware, by the way.

  5. Oh, OK. Thanks. Then which program do you suggest for burning the output files?

  6. Nevermind that last one... giving DVDFab a go.
