Hi,
Dunno if this is possible, but my old Pioneer DCS-303 (the one with the surround amp 'n' all) is getting seriously touchy about playing all but the most perfect of disks, and it's always been pretty crap with audio CDs. However, I like it as an amp etc.
I have a DV 380S which is absolutely superb at playing anything, so I'm now wondering if it's possible to replace the transport in the 303? I'm not adverse to a bit of soldering...
Cheers!

I would suspect the hardware is different. Usually, when you get to that stage of repair, the whole drive tray, often including the main board is replaced as a single unit. Feel free to open them both up and compare, but I suspect they are both different.
