  1. Seems like Spruce and Ulead make chapters you can pick from a menu, but neither makes ones that you can hit the "next" button on the remote to skip around a movie. Do any of the sub-$500 authoring progs do this?

  3. Yes but is it just me or does anyone else have a problem with chapters in DVDit? Yes i can advance from chapter to chapter, and can access my chapters from my menus. BUT on the display on my DVD player it wont read the playing time or the actual chapter number your on. My on-screen display reads all chapters as "--" and the playing time as "--:--:--.--" It knows what to do when I hit the advance and previous buttons but never displays true chapter or time info. Maybee because my first play usually starts with 2 short 20 second movies and then a menu page before my main production.

I'm using Ulead's DVD MovieFactory and I can use the next button to move to the next or previous chapter (Pioneer DVR-A03 burner and a DV-525 player) I'm using seperate MPEG files for each chapter, though. I haven't tried letting MovieFactory create chapters from a single MPEG.
