  1. Tools:
    Sony DCR-100 DV Camcorder
    ADS Pryo Fire Wire Card
    P4 System w/Win2000

I captured the DV to an AVI using Premiere 6.0 using the Standard DV-NTSC option at 48kHz (720x480). I had to first download MediaCraft's codec for Virtualdub and Cinema Craft to do anything. A message said that you need another codec other that MS Direct Show (Are there any other options to this??). Once I downloaded the codec, I was able to render the AVI to an audio and video file and multiplexed it using BBMPEG. I rendered a MPEG2 file w/CC not an SVCD file, and did I change any of the default settings with CC. I was just trying to render an MPEG2 file that would play in Windows Media Player 7.1 as a test to see if I got the process correct. Well When I try to play this file using WMP, I get an error saying it can't play the file.

    Please Help,

    BT

  2. Windows Media Player does not include an MPEG-2 decoder. Decoders come with most software DVD players, or you can try Elecard's sharware MPEG-2 decoder:
