I just built a new rig for my mother. When I insert a pen drive, it works fine. But when I go to safely remove it, the CPU usage hits 100% and everything crawls. Any idea what would cause this?
Details on the PC are in this topic.

Edit:
I now know it has something to do with Diskeeper. THe problem stops when I disable the service. I've never had this issue with DK before. Any input it helpful.

Maybe dump Diskeeper? Unless they have a fix and if the problem is really caused by the program, why use it? If you are using it primarily for defragging with XP, is fragmentation a big problem? JMO, but I rarely defrag.

Oddly I enabled automatic disk detection in it, which I usually don't since it plays hell with Pen Drives. Then I disabled it again and it seems to be working fine now. I hope it lasts.
