    I would like 2 know what your best settings are for converting an Divx movie to MPEG1/VCD,,
    using TMPGenc.

    Please.. The more reply's.. the more usefull...!!!
    I think everyone can use the answers!

  3. ok, TOOLMAN. what i do is:

    open the divx file in vdub.
    resize to 352 x 240(28 and crop accordingly.
    use a smart smoother and/or any other noise reduction filters.
    frameserve to tmpgenc.
    load your VCD profile.
    make any color corrections.
    configure youre source aspect ratio.
    SAVE AS...

    personally, i think the noise reduction within tmpgenc is absurd. it rarely helps and increases your encoding time by like ten fold. and remember the GOLDEN RULE:

    "garbage in; garbage out"

    you can rarely make VCDs look more appealing than their source. hope this helps. CIAOski!

    FYI: this procedure takes me about 4hrs to create a 2 hour finished VCD on my dual PIII 866, 512 RAM, RAID controlled PC.
