Help! Maybe I can't be helped, I don't know. My DVR-533H hard drive failed less than 1 month past warranty. I got a Seagate 160GB and it works fine, but no Timer Record or EPG! I went through the procedure on pioneerfaq.info, and copied pioneer4.iso to the new drive using Linux and dd. I'm familiar with Linux so I fully understand what I was doing.

I've tried this several times, and even verified that the data on the drive looks similar (using SectEdit) to the hex data in pioneer4.iso (using Textpad). This is very frustrating.

I was able to copy the first 8000 blocks from the old drive and dump that on the new drive. However when I use this image, the DVR continually "reboots".

Does anyone have an image from a 533H? Any ideas? Pioneer really has me in a bind.

It didn't work. This sucks. I tried writing that file to my drive using Large, LBA, and Normal modes in BIOS. Do the first 4 blocks on the drive have to be clear?

Any other ideas? I wonder what the service manual says about replacing the drive. You'd this this required code was on the Service Disk.
