  1. I heard that it's possible to get HD channels on my computer. How does that work?

At the moment I have a very old TV Tuner card, with just your basic RCA input. Is it a similar thing to that?

How does it work getting access to the channels? Do I still need to sign up with some kind of Cable company or Dish?

What kind of hardware do I need? Does anybody have any reccommendations about the best way to watch HD on my computer?

    Thanks!

While you're at it, search the web for DVICO.
    They have such products.

First step, put your address into http://www.antennaweb.org/ to see what channels are available at what distance, power and direction. That dictates your antenna needs. Then get a HD (DTV) tuner card or a digital television.
Recommends: Kiva.org - Loans that change lives.

I'm using the My HDTV MDP-130 card. It works pretty well with Windows. I connected an antenna to it and I was getting excellent OTA (Over The Air) reception from Fox and a few other channels, but eventually OTA reception got worse and worse and I finally had to break down and use a cable box as OTA for me became bad pretty much all the time.

The MDP-130 should NOT be used for recording analog TV. I recommend a real analog TV card like you have for that.
