DLP: SetGPRM and Link doesnt allow links to movies, just menus!

I have a screen that shows a thumbnail gallery. If a user selects a thumb and watches the corresponding movie, I want the user to be returned to this screen (which I have managed to accomplish) but I also want the last highlighted thumb (or button) to appear highlighted after the movie has completed. The method I used for menus wont work here because movies dont populate the drop down options for the Set GPRM menu option. So how is this accomplished???

Why not use the end link to return the the menu and button of your choice ? It's at the bottom of the connections window.

I think what guns1inger suggests is the easiest way to set it up -- the only issue might be if the viewer hits the "Menu" button before the end of the movie, you might not have the right button highlighted...

Another method to set the button highlight:
1) in the PRE-Commands for each Title, set a GPRM value to the button-hl (SPRM8)
2) in the Pre-Commands of the Menu, set SPRM8 to the saved GPRM value in step-1 (no need to multiply by 1024 in this case, because the GPRM will already contain the correct value)

Hmm, ok bear with me here, and please correct me where I am mistaken.

STEP 1
Right-click the title, in the bottom PRE, type GPRM2 = SPRM8
Do this for every button, but increment GPRM to 3, 4, 5, and so on (hmm, but I have 10 thumbnails...it might be a problem)

STEP 2
RIght-click the menu, in the bottom PRE, type SPRM8 = GPRM2
Do this identical for each thumbnail menu.

Just use the SAME GPRM in ALL the Pre-commands for your titles. If your menus go another "level" deeper, then start using a new GPRM for the Titles in that "level" (like when a Main Menu goes to a Sub Menu, and then to a Title).

Note: in the 2nd step, use the SetHL_BTN command (SetHL_BTN GPRMx)

George, thats fantastic! Can I use same GPRM is my menus are not at deeper levels? Ie, you have a thumbs menu for Apples and a thumbs menu for Oranges. I think you meant a different GPRM only if they were one above the other right?

As long as a Title you play from the Apples menu doesn't go back to the Oranges menu

Easiest thing is to setup a small Test Project, and try it...

George, I am thrilled to say that your solution has worked out for me! (not that I doubted you!) In fact I am so confident that you are the best of the best in DLP that I would like to invite you to read my latest post about the MENU button sending to last selected menu (instead of ROOT) when it is pressed during the title play. This is somewhat similar to other stuff you have helped me with but different in the sense that we are dealing with a specific button on the remote, and cannot be assigned thru DLP's drop-down feature. It really must be go back to last selected menu, rather than go specifically to this hard-coded target.

I look forward to reading your feedback in that other thread.
