I understand there is a frame advance feature with powerdvd. However I can't find it. Also I read somewhere that you can screen capture using powerdvd. I am very confused here. I would like to capture a few frames to make small avatar type stuff. Any help would be great.
Thanks in advance.

If you can't get that to work, you can also use Media Player Classic. Pause the playback at the image you want, then go FILE -> SAVE IMAGE. You can also use the arrow keys to advance and go back individual frames.

Here it is on mine. It's the Pause and Advance-a-frame-at-a-time button.
The screen capture is the little camera. -
that brings up another question I have. When I hit the C key for capture. Where does it capture it to? The clipboard? Can't I just use the printscreen key for that? Thanks

I'm pretty sure that the t key will advance one frame at a time.
To find where your pictures are being saved, click on the tools icon. Also, if hardware acceleration is enable, I don't think the screen capture will work, so you'll have to uncheck that option. There are options there as to what quality you want, naming, directory to save in, etc.
The printscreen, if it works, will capture everything you seen on your monitor, not just the video. -
You have to go into the programs configuration to set where you want the files to go. You can also set the size of the pict.
