I've got 6 .avi files. I wanna join them an convert them to MPEG-2 to burn an SVCD. I've tried Boilsoft AVI to VCD... but it leaves a yellow watermark in the centre of the video. What can I do to remove it? Is there any other free software which allows me to do what I want?

If you want to use Boilsoft, but get rid of the watermark, you buy the product.

If you're only targeting VCD you only need MPG1 output - TMPGEnc (even after the trail expires) will still create MPG1 files!

I don't do SVCDs, but I believe they use MPEG2. So:
FitCD + Avisynth + HCEnc to make MPEG2
    BeSweet to make audio.

    Authoring app.
Maybe VCDGear, I've used it for VCDs, it has a setting for SVCD.

    All freeware.

Did you try the link I provided in my previous post? Most of those guides use freeware.
You also did ask how to remove the watermark you get when you encode with Boilsoft. I gave the answer how to.
